Clinical- Indications
- Primary open angle glaucoma
Company intelligence / Profile preview
ViaLase has developed a first-in-class femtosecond laser system for noninvasive treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma. Early human studies showed a mean intraocular pressure reduction of over 34% at two years with no serious adverse events. The pivotal VIA‑002 trial enrolled 152 patients and compares FLigHT to selective laser trabeculoplasty; results are pending but early data support safety and efficacy. The device received CE Mark approval in July/August 2024, enabling initial commercialization in select European markets later this year.
