Vicebio is a clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of next-generation vaccines for respiratory viral infections. The company utilizes its proprietary Molecular Clamp technology, licensed from the University of Queensland, which stabilizes viral glycoproteins in their highly immunogenic prefusion conformation to elicit a potent immune response. Its lead candidate, VXB-241, is a bivalent vaccine targeting both Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV), currently in Phase 1/2 clinical trials. In July 2025, Vicebio was acquired by Sanofi for up to $1.6 billion, significantly strengthening Sanofi's respiratory vaccine pipeline with innovative, ready-to-use liquid formulations.
