Company intelligence / Profile preview
Victory Memorial Hospital was a long-standing community healthcare institution located in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Established in 1904, the hospital provided a wide array of medical services including emergency care, surgery, and maternity services to the local population for over a century. Following significant financial challenges in the early 2000s, the facility was slated for closure by the New York State Commission on Health Care Facilities in the 21st Century (the Berger Commission). The hospital officially ceased full-service operations in 2009. The site was subsequently acquired and repurposed by SUNY Downstate Medical Center to serve as an urgent care and multispecialty ambulatory center, maintaining essential healthcare access for the community.
