Company intelligence / Profile preview
Vigmed is a Swedish medical technology company focused on safety catheters and related vascular access devices designed to reduce needlestick injuries and the risk of cross-infection among healthcare workers. The company developed and commercialized needle-protected intravenous and arterial catheters with built-in automatic or passive safety mechanisms, including products marketed under the CLiP brand. Vigmed was founded in 2009 in Helsingborg, Sweden, and its shares were previously traded on Nasdaq First North Stockholm under the ticker VIG. In 2017, the company was acquired by Greiner Bio-One and became part of that group’s safety products offering. Today, Vigmed is best understood as a commercial medtech business and product brand within Greiner Bio-One rather than an independent biotech or pharmaceutical developer.
