Vinumar was an early-stage biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery of small molecule inhibitors for the treatment of cancer. The company's primary focus was on targeting p97, also known as valosin-containing protein (VCP), an enzyme that plays a central role in the protein degradation pathway and cellular homeostasis. By inhibiting p97, Vinumar aimed to disrupt the ability of cancer cells to manage misfolded proteins, leading to cell death.
