VIRA-GARD

A/G Technology Corporation, often associated with its prominent Vira-Gard product line, was a biotechnology company specializing in the development and manufacture of hollow fiber membrane cartridges for bioprocessing. The company's technology was primarily used for the purification of proteins and the removal of viral contaminants in the production of biopharmaceuticals, including vaccines and monoclonal antibodies. Its Vira-Gard filters became an industry standard for viral reduction and ultrafiltration in downstream processing. In 2005, the company was acquired by GE Healthcare, and its technology portfolio is now part of Cytiva (a Danaher company).
