Virgin Healthcare (later rebranded as Virgin Care) was a prominent private healthcare provider in the United Kingdom, operating as part of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group. Established in 2010 through the acquisition of Assura Medical, the company specialized in delivering community-based National Health Service (NHS) and social care services across England. At its peak, it managed over 400 services, including GP surgeries, sexual health clinics, and school immunisation programs. In December 2021, the business was acquired by the private equity firm Twenty20 Capital and rebranded as HCRG Care Group. The organization focuses on service delivery and operational efficiency within the UK's public health framework rather than drug development.
