Virtual Acumen

Virtual Acumen was a specialized contract research organization (CRO) that provided clinical data management, biostatistics, and electronic data capture (EDC) services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Founded in 2001 and based in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, the company focused on optimizing clinical trial data collection and analysis through advanced technology solutions. They offered expertise in clinical trial design, data analysis, and regulatory submission support, serving a diverse range of clients from emerging biotechs to large pharmaceutical firms. In July 2010, Virtual Acumen was acquired by Chiltern International, a global CRO, to strengthen its biometrics and data management offerings. This acquisition allowed Chiltern to expand its footprint in the North Carolina biotech hub and integrate Virtual Acumen's specialized technical expertise into its global service portfolio.
