Vision Sciences was a medical device company specializing in the design, development, and manufacture of flexible endoscopic products for the urology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and ENT markets. The company's core innovation was the EndoSheath technology, a sterile, disposable microbial barrier that fits over a flexible endoscope, allowing for rapid turnaround times and reduced risk of cross-contamination. This system eliminated the need for time-consuming high-level disinfection between procedures, significantly enhancing clinical workflow and patient safety. In 2015, Vision Sciences merged with Uroplasty to form Cogentix Medical, which was later acquired by Laborie Medical Technologies.
