Vision Systems was an Australian medical technology company that became a global leader in automated histopathology diagnostics through its subsidiary, Vision BioSystems. The company is best known for developing the Bond series of automated slide staining systems and the Peloris rapid tissue processor, which revolutionized laboratory workflows in cancer diagnostics. In 2006, after a high-profile bidding war between Cytyc and Danaher, the company was acquired by Danaher Corporation for approximately $520 million. Its operations and technologies were subsequently integrated into Leica Biosystems, where they remain core components of the pathology product line. The company's legacy continues through these widely used diagnostic platforms that automate immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
