Company intelligence / Profile preview
Vita34 is the long-standing consumer brand of FamiCord AG, a Leipzig-based publicly traded European cell bank company focused on the collection, processing, cryopreservation, and long-term storage of umbilical cord blood, umbilical cord tissue, placenta tissue, and other postnatal biological materials. Founded in 1997 as Europe’s first private umbilical cord blood bank, the business has grown into the largest cell bank in Europe and one of the largest globally. The company operates a full-service model spanning collection logistics, laboratory processing, storage, and related family stem-cell banking services across roughly 50 countries. In addition to its core biobanking business, FamiCord has expanded into cell and gene therapy-related services and CDMO activities. Vita34 remains the key end-customer brand in the DACH region, while the corporate entity was renamed from Vita 34 AG to FamiCord AG in February 2025.
