Vitestro has developed Aletta, an autonomous robotic blood-drawing device that uses AI-driven Doppler ultrasound imaging and robotic needle insertion to automate phlebotomy. Clinical trials with over 4,000 patients demonstrated high safety and patient acceptance—98% found the method acceptable or very acceptable, with pain levels similar to or less than manual draws. The company submitted its CE file in Europe and sold initial devices pre-regulatory approval. US regulatory submissions are underway. The A.D.O.P.T. trial was the world’s largest evaluation of autonomous blood-drawing devices. First commercial deployments in European hospitals are scheduled for late 2024/early 2025. No drugs or therapeutics are being developed.
