Overview
Vivacelle Bio’s lead asset, VBI-S, has entered a Phase 3 trial targeting patients with hypovolemia due to septic shock who have failed standard therapies. The product demonstrated strong efficacy in a Phase II trial—100% of treated patients achieved elevated blood pressure and improved organ function when refractory to standard care. The company’s technology addresses both absolute and relative hypovolemia by restoring intravascular volume and redistributing nitric oxide. Preclinical data for the earlier-stage product, VBI‑1, suggest it may be two-to-three times more effective than current standards in animal models.
