Vivacs

Vivacs GmbH was a German biotechnology company based in Martinsried, specializing in the development of viral vector vaccines. The company utilized a proprietary platform based on Modified Vaccinia Virus Ankara (MVA) to create vaccines against infectious diseases. Its lead program was a vaccine candidate for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV), developed in collaboration with academic partners like the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF). Although the technology showed promise in early clinical trials, the company is no longer active, with its core research programs continuing through institutional partnerships.
