Vivalis

Vivalis was a French biotechnology company specialized in the development of innovative cell lines for the manufacture of vaccines and therapeutic proteins. The company's flagship technology, the EB66 cell line, was derived from duck embryonic stem cells and served as a high-yield alternative to traditional egg-based production methods. Vivalis operated primarily as a platform provider, licensing its technology to major pharmaceutical and animal health companies for the production of viral vaccines and monoclonal antibodies. In addition to its cell line business, the company developed the VIVA|Screen platform for the rapid discovery of fully human monoclonal antibodies. In May 2013, Vivalis merged with the Austrian vaccine developer Intercell to form Valneva SE. This merger combined Vivalis's manufacturing platforms with Intercell's clinical pipeline and commercial products to create a leading independent vaccine company.
