Viventia Bio

Viventia Bio is a clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of targeted protein therapeutics (TPTs) for oncology indications. The company's proprietary platform creates fully biologic molecules that combine a tumor-targeting antibody fragment with a potent protein toxin payload to induce cancer cell death while minimizing systemic toxicity. Its lead candidate, Vicineum (oportuzumab monatox), was developed for the treatment of high-risk, non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The company also explored Proxinium for the treatment of late-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Viventia Bio was acquired in 2016 by Eleven Biotherapeutics, which subsequently rebranded as Sesen Bio to focus on advancing Viventia's pipeline.
