VMG Pharmaceuticals

VMG Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development of innovative therapies for neurological and central nervous system (CNS) disorders. The company's primary asset was VMG-001, a novel oral transmucosal formulation of midazolam designed for the treatment of acute repetitive seizures in patients with epilepsy. VMG-001 utilized the proprietary PharmFilm drug delivery technology through a strategic partnership with MonoSol Rx. In 2014, VMG Pharmaceuticals was acquired by MonoSol Rx (now Aquestive Therapeutics), which integrated the VMG-001 program into its own pipeline. This development eventually led to the creation of Libervant, an FDA-approved rescue therapy for seizure clusters.
