Volcano Agroscience

Volcano Agroscience was a South African agrochemical company specializing in the development and distribution of crop protection products, particularly herbicides for the sugar industry. Founded in 2000, the company became a significant player in the South African agricultural market before being acquired by Arysta LifeScience in 2007. Following Arysta's acquisition by UPL Limited in 2019, Volcano operated as a subsidiary within the UPL group. The company's portfolio included proprietary generic formulations such as Lava 800 WDG and Volcano herbicide, targeting broadleaf weeds and annual grasses. As of July 2024, the entity was reported as liquidated as part of corporate restructuring under UPL.
