The company was best known for its flagship brand, Zapzyt, which includes a widely recognized acne treatment gel and various medicated skin cleansers. Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Mississippi, Waltman Pharmaceuticals established a strong retail presence in major U.S. pharmacies and utilized early digital marketing strategies to build brand equity. In December 2016, the company was acquired by Focus Consumer Healthcare, which was later integrated into Kobayashi Pharmaceutical.
