Wander AG is a Swiss company with a storied history in the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries, most notably recognized for the discovery and development of the landmark antipsychotic clozapine (Leponex). Founded in 1865 by Dr. Georg Wander, the company initially focused on malt-based nutritional products like Ovomaltine before expanding into a major pharmaceutical enterprise. Its pharmaceutical division was acquired by Sandoz in 1967, eventually becoming a core part of Novartis, while its food and beverage operations were later sold to Associated British Foods. Today, Wander remains an active entity in the consumer health and nutrition space, maintaining its headquarters in Switzerland and continuing to produce globally recognized health-oriented food brands.
