Waterbury Gardens for Nursing and Rehabilitation

Waterbury Gardens for Nursing and Rehabilitation was a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located in Waterbury, Connecticut, that specialized in post-acute care and pulmonary rehabilitation. The facility was notably one of the few in the region providing specialized ventilator and respiratory care services alongside traditional long-term nursing and short-term rehabilitation. In May 2023, the center was placed into state-appointed receivership due to severe financial instability and staffing difficulties. Following a period of oversight, the facility received approval to close and officially ceased operations in early 2024 after all residents were transitioned to alternative care settings.
