Waterbury Hospital

Waterbury Hospital is an acute care community and teaching hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut that delivers commercial healthcare services rather than operating a drug-development pipeline. Founded in 1890, it provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency, trauma, surgical, cardiology, orthopedic, behavioral health, and other hospital-based services. Effective March 1, 2026, the hospital transitioned to UConn Health Waterbury Hospital as part of the UConn Health Community Network, a not-for-profit system structure formed to support community hospitals. The hospital maintains academic affiliations with the Yale School of Medicine, the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and Connecticut Children's.
