Waypoint Orthopedics is a private U.S. spinal medical device company developing tools to make vertebral fixation safer and more efficient during spine surgery. Its lead product, Waypoint GPS, is an FDA-cleared smart bone awl or pedicle probe used in open and minimally invasive spine procedures. The system provides real-time visual feedback using proprietary color-sensing technology to help surgeons distinguish tissue and bone transitions, avoid cortical breach, and reduce reliance on fluoroscopy and radiation exposure.
