Company intelligence / Profile preview
WearAir Oxygen Inc. was a Canadian medical device company based in Kelowna, British Columbia, that specialized in the development of miniaturized, wearable oxygen concentrators. Founded in the early 2000s, the company developed proprietary technology based on Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) and Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) to provide a portable and continuous supply of medical-grade oxygen. In 2005, WearAir entered into an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Delphi Medical Systems, allowing Delphi to commercialize the technology for the global respiratory care market. The company's products were designed to enhance the mobility and independence of patients suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other forms of hypoxemia. WearAir is no longer active as an independent entity, following the integration of its core intellectual property into larger medical technology portfolios.
