Wellsoft

Wellsoft was a U.S. healthcare IT company focused on emergency department and urgent care software rather than drug development. Its flagship product, Wellsoft EDIS, is an emergency department information system and EHR used by hospitals, freestanding emergency centers, and urgent care centers for patient tracking, clinical documentation, orders/results, reimbursement, discharge planning, and data management. Founded in 1988 and based in Somerset, New Jersey, the company built a strong niche reputation in emergency care workflow software and received repeated KLAS recognition. Medsphere acquired Wellsoft in February 2019, after which the business continued as the Wellsoft division within Medsphere. In August 2025, CareCloud acquired Medsphere's business assets, making Wellsoft effectively part of the broader CareCloud-owned Medsphere portfolio.
