Company intelligence / Profile preview
Weneos (formerly HelioScreen) is a French contract research organization (CRO) and testing laboratory specializing in the evaluation of sun protection and photoprotection for cosmetic and skincare products. Founded in 1999, the company offers a comprehensive suite of in vitro and in vivo testing services, including SPF, UVA, critical wavelength, blue light, and infrared protection assessments. Weneos also designs and manufactures specialized testing equipment and substrates, such as the SPREADMASTER robotic spreading device and Helioplate PMMA plates, to ensure highly reproducible and standardized testing. In late 2024, the company relocated to a modern facility in Lacroix-Saint-Ouen and launched a clinical research division utilizing Hybrid Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (HDRS) to provide ethical, non-invasive SPF testing.
