West Contra Costa Healthcare District (WCCHD) is a public agency established to provide and support healthcare services for the residents of West Contra Costa County, California. Historically, the district owned and operated Doctors Medical Center (DMC) in San Pablo, which served as a vital safety-net hospital and the region's primary emergency department. Following the closure of the hospital in 2015 due to significant financial deficits, the district transitioned its mission toward managing legacy liabilities, debt repayment, and funding community health initiatives. Currently, WCCHD focuses on overseeing the distribution of tax revenues to improve local health outcomes and ensuring the continued availability of essential medical services through strategic partnerships.
