Western Sussex Hospitals Trust

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was a major healthcare provider in West Sussex, England, serving a population of approximately 450,000 people. The trust operated three main sites: St Richard's Hospital in Chichester, Worthing Hospital, and Southlands Hospital in Shoreham-by-Sea. It was the first non-specialist trust in the UK to be rated "Outstanding" in all five categories by the Care Quality Commission. The organization was well-regarded for its "Patient First" improvement program, which focused on lean management and frontline-led service enhancements. In April 2021, the trust merged with Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust to form University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
