Who We Play For

Who We Play For is a U.S.-based nonprofit healthcare organization focused on preventing sudden cardiac death in young people through affordable, non-invasive electrocardiogram heart screening programs. The organization was founded in response to the death of student athlete Rafe Maccarone and works with schools, sports clubs, physicians, and communities to expand access to ECG screening, AED placement, and cardiac-awareness education. Its core service is operational heart-screening events interpreted by cardiology experts, rather than development of therapeutics. The group also partners with cardiac technology providers and promotes public-awareness initiatives intended to identify undiagnosed heart conditions before a catastrophic event occurs.
