Windtree Therapeutics develops small-molecule therapies targeting critical cardiovascular conditions and oncology. Its lead asset istaroxime showed positive results in a Phase II extension study for early cardiogenic shock. The company also has preclinical SERCA2a activators for chronic heart failure and a precision aPKCi inhibitor program targeting rare/broad oncology indications. In early/mid–2025, Windtree announced a new strategy to acquire small biotechs with FDA-approved products to generate revenue while continuing its R&D pipeline. As of mid–2025, it had not yet completed any such acquisitions but maintains out-license partnerships including one with Lee’s Pharmaceutical covering China.[4][6]
