Xanodyne Pharmacal

Xanodyne Pharmacal was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative products in the areas of pain management and women's health. The company successfully launched several FDA-approved products, most notably Zipsor for mild-to-moderate pain and Lysteda for the treatment of cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding. Based in Newport, Kentucky, Xanodyne built a portfolio through both internal development and the acquisition of late-stage assets. Following a period of commercial activity, the company divested its primary assets to larger pharmaceutical firms, including Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Depomed.
