XB TransMed Solutions

XB TransMed Solutions was a bioinformatics company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that specialized in translational medicine software. Its flagship product, the XB BioIntegration Suite (XB BIS), was developed in collaboration with researchers at the Van Andel Institute (VAI) to integrate clinical, preclinical, and molecular data for biomarker discovery and target validation. The company was founded to commercialize technology developed at VAI, with Craig Webb serving as a key scientific leader. XB TransMed received early-stage funding from the Michigan Strategic Fund in 2006, and after a period of restructuring, its state-backed loans were reported as paid off by 2021. The platform was designed to accelerate the translational research workflow by providing integrated functionality for target discovery and clinical trial support.
