Xceed Biotechnology was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of small molecule therapeutics designed to trigger apoptosis in cancer cells. Founded in 2003 by Dr. Dajun Yang and Dr. Shaomeng Wang, the company focused on inhibiting key protein-protein interactions within the apoptotic pathway, such as Bcl-2/Bcl-xL and MDM2-p53. Xceed Biotechnology served as the foundational precursor to Ascentage Pharma, a leading global biotech company. Its early pipeline included promising candidates like AT-101 and AT-406, which paved the way for next-generation apoptosis-targeting therapies. The company's research was largely based on licensed technology from the University of Michigan. Xceed's operations were strategically split between the United States and China, facilitating cross-border drug development before its eventual merger into the Ascentage Pharma Group.
