Company intelligence / Profile preview
Xcelience was a premier contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in formulation development and clinical trial supplies. Founded in 2006 as a spin-off from MDS Pharma Services, the company provided a suite of services including preformulation, analytical method development, and GMP manufacturing for Phase I through Phase III clinical trials. Xcelience was particularly known for its expertise in complex small molecule formulations, including oral solid, semi-solid, and liquid dosage forms. In 2016, the company was acquired by Capsugel to enhance its integrated drug development solutions, and it was subsequently integrated into Lonza following Lonza's acquisition of Capsugel in 2017. The company operated out of state-of-the-art facilities in Tampa, Florida, serving a global client base of biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
