Company intelligence / Profile preview
Xcertia was a non-profit collaboration dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and effectiveness of mobile health (mHealth) applications. Founded in 2016 by the American Medical Association (AMA), American Heart Association (AHA), HIMSS, and DHX Group, the organization developed a framework of evidence-based guidelines for mHealth apps. These guidelines focused on critical domains such as privacy, security, clinical content, and usability to help consumers and clinicians identify reliable digital health tools. The organization aimed to foster a collaborative ecosystem for mHealth app development and evaluation. In 2020, the founding organizations announced that Xcertia would sunset its operations, with its mission and work being integrated into the broader digital health initiatives of its member organizations.
