Xcovery Vision

Xcovery Vision was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing next-generation therapies for retinal diseases, such as wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD) and diabetic macular edema. The company's lead asset, XV-615, was a potent multi-kinase inhibitor designed to inhibit the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) pathways. In May 2016, Xcovery Vision was acquired by Graybug Vision to leverage Graybug's proprietary injectable sustained-release technology. This combination aimed to reduce the frequency of intravitreal injections for patients with chronic eye conditions by providing long-lasting drug delivery. The lead candidate was subsequently advanced into clinical trials under the name GB-102. The company's foundational technology originated from the oncology-focused kinase inhibitor platform of its parent company, Xcovery.
