Overview
Xeno Biosciences developed XEN‑101, an oral small molecule designed to induce weight loss by shifting the gut microbiome to a state similar to that seen after gastric bypass surgery. The drug showed high tolerability and safety in early clinical trials but did not demonstrate sufficient efficacy for weight loss. In early 2025, LPOXY Therapeutics acquired key assets from Xeno, including clinical data and IP, to repurpose the compound as SIDIPREV™ for prevention of C. difficile infection in hospitalized patients.[6]
