Company intelligence / Profile preview
Xenorex, Inc. was a biotechnology company based in Carlsbad, California, that specialized in genomics-based drug discovery for oncology. The company focused on identifying and validating novel cell-surface targets that are overexpressed in cancer cells to facilitate the development of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. In 2001, Xenorex was acquired by Medarex, Inc., a leader in human antibody technology, in a deal valued at approximately 15 million USD. This acquisition allowed Medarex to integrate Xenorex's target identification capabilities with its own HuMAb-Mouse platform. Following Medarex's acquisition by Bristol Myers Squibb in 2009, the legacy of Xenorex's research became part of the broader BMS oncology portfolio.
