Xillix Technologies was a medical device company that pioneered fluorescence-based imaging systems for the early detection and localization of cancer. The company's core technology, the Onco-LIFE system, utilized proprietary autofluorescence technology to detect pre-cancerous and cancerous tissues in the lung and gastrointestinal tract that were often invisible under conventional white-light endoscopy. By enabling earlier diagnosis, Xillix aimed to significantly improve survival rates and treatment outcomes for oncology patients. Based in Richmond, British Columbia, the company was a leader in the field of optical diagnostics before its acquisition. In 2006, Xillix was acquired by Novadaq Technologies to expand their portfolio of advanced tissue imaging solutions.
