Xpand Biotechnology is a Netherlands-based biotechnology company specializing in the development of advanced orthobiologic products for bone regeneration. The company is best known for its proprietary MagnetOs technology, a synthetic bone graft substitute that utilizes a unique sub-micron surface topography to direct cellular response and promote bone formation without the need for added growth factors. Originally a spin-off from the University of Twente, Xpand was acquired by Bioventus in 2014 and now serves as a primary research and development hub for their bone graft portfolio. Its products are used globally in complex spinal fusion and orthopedic trauma surgeries to facilitate natural bone healing.
