Yakima Regional Medical Center

Yakima Regional Medical Center was a 214-bed acute-care facility located in Yakima, Washington, that specialized in cardiovascular care, neurosurgery, and orthopedics. Originally established in 1891 as St. Elizabeth Hospital, the institution served as a cornerstone of healthcare in the Yakima Valley for over a century. The hospital was acquired by Astria Health from Community Health Systems in 2017 and subsequently rebranded as Astria Regional Medical Center. Following significant financial challenges and a bankruptcy filing by its parent company, the facility officially ceased all operations in January 2020. Its closure marked a major shift in the regional healthcare landscape, leaving the community with fewer emergency and specialized care options.
