Yildiz Therapeutics was a Cambridge-based biotechnology company specializing in precision oncology through the modulation of the BAF (SWI/SNF) chromatin remodeling complex. The company was founded based on the pioneering research of Dr. Cigall Kadoch at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which elucidated the role of BAF complex mutations in driving various human cancers. Yildiz focused on developing potent and selective small molecule inhibitors to target specific subunits of the complex, such as SMARCA2 and SMARCA4. In late 2019, the company was acquired by Loxo Oncology, a subsidiary of Eli Lilly, integrating its epigenetic platform into Lilly's broader oncology portfolio. The acquisition aimed to advance novel therapies for genetically defined cancers that are dependent on chromatin remodeling pathways.
