Yufu Research

Yufu Research is a Japanese biotechnology company founded in 2010 as a spin-off from Oita University. The company focuses on the research and development of novel pharmaceuticals, quasi-drugs, and cosmetics based on the academic research of Oita University's Faculty of Medicine. Its core technology platform centers on synthesized alpha-lipoic acid derivatives (ALAD), such as DHL-HisZnNa, and vitamin E derivatives, such as ETS-GS, which exhibit potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cell-cycle-regulating properties. Yufu Research targets medical needs arising from cancer treatment side effects, including chemotherapy-induced alopecia and hyperpigmentation, as well as inflammatory conditions like ulcerative colitis and radiation enterocolitis. Notably, the company partnered with Aderans to commercialize 'HairRepro Medi-α', a scalp lotion containing its proprietary alpha-lipoic acid derivative.
