Zargis Medical

Zargis Medical was a medical technology company that specialized in the development of computer-aided diagnostic tools for cardiac and pulmonary health. A spin-off from Siemens Corporate Research, the company was best known for Zargis Cardioscan, the first FDA-cleared software designed to identify and classify suspected heart murmurs. Its product suite also included TeleSteth and StethAssist, which enabled remote auscultation and the visualization of heart and lung sounds for telemedicine applications. In 2011, 3M Health Care acquired the company's core software assets to integrate them with the Littmann line of electronic stethoscopes. The company's technology was developed in collaboration with institutions like Johns Hopkins University to improve the accuracy of primary care cardiac screenings. Zargis was a majority-owned subsidiary of Speedus Corp and maintained strategic partnerships with both Siemens and 3M throughout its operation.
