Zecotek Imaging China

Zecotek Imaging China is the Shanghai-based subsidiary of Zecotek Photonics Inc., focused on the development and commercialization of advanced scintillation crystals and photo-detectors for the medical imaging market. The company's core technology is the patented Lutetium Fine Silicate (LFS) crystal, which provides high light yield and ultra-fast decay times essential for high-resolution Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanners. Additionally, the company produced Micro-pixel Avalanche Photodiodes (MAPD), a solid-state alternative to traditional photomultiplier tubes, designed for use in integrated PET/MRI systems. While the company established manufacturing partnerships in China to scale its LFS crystal production, its parent company has faced significant financial and regulatory challenges, leading to a cessation of active operations.
