Zedman Biopharma was a UK-based biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule inhibitors for respiratory diseases. The company's primary focus was on Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (SYK) inhibitors, specifically designed for inhaled delivery to treat severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Zedman was founded by a team of experienced drug hunters from the University of Sussex and Cardiff University, with backing from Epidarex Capital. The lead program, ZED-01, was developed to provide potent anti-inflammatory effects directly in the lungs while minimizing systemic side effects. In 2018, the company was acquired by Enterprise Therapeutics, integrating its SYK inhibitor program into Enterprise's broader respiratory portfolio. This acquisition allowed the combined entity to advance a diverse pipeline of treatments for cystic fibrosis, asthma, and COPD.
