Zeltia was a Spanish pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical group with activities spanning oncology drug development from marine sources, molecular diagnostics, and gene-silencing therapies. Its most notable achievement was the development and commercialization of Yondelis (trabectedin), approved in Europe and the US for soft tissue sarcoma and ovarian cancer. Other key pipeline assets included Aplidin/plitidepsin in late-stage trials for multiple myeloma. The company operated through several subsidiaries including PharmaMar, Genómica, Sylentis, Zelnova, Xylazel. In October–November of 2015 it ceased to exist as an independent entity after being absorbed by its subsidiary PharmaMar through a reverse merger[1][2][3][8].
