Company intelligence / Profile preview
Zeneus Pharma was a UK-based specialty pharmaceutical company that focused on the acquisition and commercialization of oncology and critical care products within the European market. The company was established in 2003 following a management buyout of Elan Corporation's European specialty pharmaceutical business, backed by private equity firm Apax Partners. Its portfolio featured key marketed products such as Myocet for metastatic breast cancer, Abelcet for severe fungal infections, and Targretin for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. In December 2005, Zeneus was acquired by the U.S. biopharmaceutical company Cephalon for $360 million, significantly enhancing Cephalon's international infrastructure and oncology offerings. Following the acquisition, Zeneus's operations were integrated into Cephalon's European business unit.
