Company intelligence / Profile preview
Zenith Laboratories was a prominent American pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of generic prescription drugs. Based in Northvale, New Jersey, the company established a significant portfolio of multi-source pharmaceutical products across various therapeutic categories, including cardiovascular, anti-infective, and central nervous system disorders. Zenith was a publicly traded entity on the NASDAQ exchange under the symbol ZENI and was recognized as a leader in the early generic drug industry. In 1994, the company was acquired by IVAX Corporation in a transaction valued at approximately $600 million, which consolidated its position in the global generics market.
