Zhongshan Shaxi Pharmaceutical, formerly known as Zhongshan Shaxi Chinese Medicine Factory, is a long-standing pharmaceutical company based in Guangdong, China, specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Founded in 1958, the company is renowned for its "Shaxi Liangcha" (herbal tea), which is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage with a history spanning over a century. Its product portfolio includes various TCM formulations such as granules, capsules, and oral liquids targeting respiratory, digestive, and immune system health. In July 2022, the company was acquired by Bloomage Biotech for approximately 233 million RMB to integrate traditional herbal expertise with modern biotechnology platforms. The acquisition aims to leverage Bloomage's R&D capabilities to modernize Shaxi's classic formulas and expand its reach in the consumer health market.
